• Firefighters agree to forego scheduled wage increase for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.
• The contract also includes an agreement to create a joint labor-management committee to explore a two-day on, four-day off work schedule.

Denver, Colorado Fire Department

• Firefighters agree to give up a scheduled 4% pay raise in 2010 and a 3.8% raise in 2011.
• The compromise will save the City $7 million and allow 54 firefighters to keep their jobs.

• Officers agree to delay their 2010 4.5% pay raises by 11.5 months, and will delay their 2011 3% pay raise until the end of that year.
• In exchange, the City renewed its contract with the police union and agreed to give police a 3% raise in 2012.
