Anderson, Indiana Fire Department

• 2009 to 2011, 3% annually

• Firefighters will receive longevity pay of $140 per year in 2009 (up to $2,800), $150 per year in 2010 (up to $3,000) and $162.50 in 2011 (up to $3,250).

Corvallis, Oregon Police Department

• January 1, 2010, 1%
• July 1, 2010, 4%
• July 1, 2011, 4%

• An additional increase of up to 1% is possible January 1, 2011, if the cost of living index meets or exceeds 4.5%.
• Under the new agreement, the City will pay the officers’ 6% contribution to the State’s retirement system.

Fontana, California Police Department (Supervisors)

• July 2009, 3%
• July 2010, 3%
• July 2011, 3%

• In January 2009, the City will conduct a salary survey of seven nearby law enforcement agencies. The base salaries of those departments’ highest-paid sergeants, lieutenants and captains will be averaged, and Fontana personnel of each rank will receive 2% more than that average. The same process will be repeated in January 2010 and January 2011.

Melbourne, Florida Police Department

• The new contract gives officers stipends for using personal cell phones and maintaining their uniforms at $100 and $200 per officer per year, respectively.

New York State Troopers

• This agreement also addresses certain benefits, including a program that allows troopers who are injured in the line of duty to continue to serve New York State in a light-duty capacity.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Transit Police Department

• 2008 to 2011, 3% annual pay raises

• Under the new contract, officers contribute 1% of their 40-hour work to health-care costs.
• Longevity bonuses increase from $600 to $1,200 for officers in their third and fourth year, and increase by $1,152 for officers in years five through 25.
• The line-of-duty death benefits increase from $80,000 to $350,000, and pensions increase from 50% to 53.5% with no increased contribution.
