Beaverton, Oregon Police Department

• July 1, 2009, No increase
• 2010 and 2011, Between 1.5% and 4%, based on Portland CPI-W

• The agreement also includes a vacation accrual increase of between one and four days based on years of service.

Dayton, Ohio Fire Department

• No increase

• Under the new contract, which covers 2009 and 2010, firefighters will give up pay for Labor Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday and Memorial Day holidays, and the City commits it will not lay off any additional union positions through May 31, 2010.

Hamilton County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office

• No increase

• To avoid layoffs, deputies will give up clothing allowances for the year and will take days off without pay.

Irvine, California Police Department

• Pay freeze

• New contract marks the first time the City has unilaterally imposed a contract on police officers.

Las Vegas, Nevada Fire Department

• 2009, No increase
• 2010, COLA

• The new contract obligates the City to pay more toward employees’ retirement contributions and health care costs.

Montgomery County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office

• Pay freeze

• Deputies voted for a one-year pay freeze and to extend the contract one year in an effort to avoid layoffs.

Parma, Ohio Fire Department

• No increase

• The agreement, which is effective through the end of the year, requires firefighters to give up vacation and other scheduled days off with the guarantee that if layoffs happen this year, the terms would be terminated and the original contract restored.

Peoria, Illinois Fire Department

• No increase

• Firefighters agreed to forgo their scheduled 3.5% raise for 2010 amid City’s projected $10 million budget shortfall.
