Bristol, Connecticut Police Department

• The new agreement calls for employee contributions to health insurance payments to rise from 5% to 6.5% on July 1, 2008. On July 1, 2009, they will increase to 7.5%, and on July 1, 2010, will be set at 8.25%.

Ithaca, New York Police Department

• The new agreement increases the amount officers pay for health insurance from 1% of their salary to 1.25% starting in 2009 and 1.75% in 2011.

Moore, Oklahoma Fire Department

• 2007, 3% for firefighters, 4.2% for drivers

• Under the new contract, the City will pay 75% of the total premium for family and single coverage for the City’s health insurance plan.

Onondaga County, New York Sheriff’s Office

• January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2011 (averages):
• Deputies: 3.84% annually
• Sergeants: 3.73% annually
• Lieutenants: 4.73% annually

• Retirees will pay 15% of the monthly premium for health coverage, down from between 40% and 65%. Active members will pay 15% of premium for individual and family medical coverage, up from 10%.

Pasco County, Florida Fire Rescue

• Firefighters will receive additional overtime in lieu of a wage increase.

• Under the new agreement, firefighters will work a shorter work cycle, 14 days rather than 28 days, to allow them to collect 86 more hours overtime per year and be compensated more often.
• In addition, firefighters who ride on ambulances will get a 2.5 percent salary increase as an incentive.

Tacoma, Washington Police Department

• Arbitrator did not grant Union’s request to allow officers to cash out up to 40 hours of vacation per year.
•Under the new agreement, standby pay increased from $2.00 to $2.50 per hour.

Wilmington, Delaware Police Department

• The contract also includes salary adjustments to boost recruitment and retention of officers and increases the payout for unused sick leave at retirement.
