Boston, Massachusetts Police Department

• 14.5% over four years

• New contract calls for officers to increase health insurance contribution from 10% to 15%.
• Under the new contract, officers with 10 years of service allowed to live outside of city limits.

Covington, Kentucky Fire Department

• July 1, 2007, 2%
• July 1, 2008, 1%
• July 1, 2009, 5%

• Firefighters will get a $2,200 bonus for 2005 to make up for pay raises they did not get when police and municipal workers did.
• Firefighters will pay $12.50 for health insurance.
• New prescription plan will require City to pay first $50 of cost, and if the cost is more, for the firefighter to pay up to another $50, with the City paying anything beyond that.

Honolulu, Hawaii Police Department

• Officers with 25 years’ experience will receive an additional 4.3% increase in the first year of the contract.
• Monthly allowance for employee-owned vehicles will increase to $600 for patrol officers and $562 for detectives.

• Under new contract, officers not required to pay health insurance premiums.
• Officers’ monthly payments to their retirement health care fund will increase from $70 to up to $200.

Sunrise, Florida Police Department

• Under the new contract, some officers will receive additional 5% merit increases.
• Officers will contribute 9.84% of their salaries to cover pension costs.
