Aurora, Illinois Police Department

• 3.5% annually from March 2007 to March 2010, plus $1,000 bonus at the end of the contract

• Arbitrator denied City’s request that Union contribute more to insurance costs for current and retired officers.

Boise, Idaho Fire Department

• 2008, 3%
• 2009, 4.5%

• The new agreement provides for binding arbitration for future contracts.
• The new contract also provides for two new firefighters per shift at the Boise airport and increased pay incentives.

North Lauderdale, Florida Fire Department

• June 2006, 5%
• October 2008, 3%

• Under the new contract, which expires in 2010, the City Commission will decide future pay raises each summer for the upcoming fiscal year.
• The new contract also raises starting pay for firefighters by 12.5%.

San Diego, California Police Department

• The new agreement provides officers with no dependents a 0.6% increase in health care benefits while officers with families receive 2% more.

Troy, New York Police Department

• The new agreement allows officers to transfer into the Department at their experience level instead of beginning at the first-year pay rate.
• The contract adds an additional sixth pay level carrying a raise of $2,000 retroactive to 2007.
• The agreement also includes a buy-out provision that would allow police officers to live outside the city.

West Covina, California Fire Department

• July 2007, 4.5%
• Total pay increase of 14.5% by the end of the contract in 2010

• New contract provides increases in uniform allowance and tuition reimbursement.

West Covina, California Police Department

• July 2007, 6%
• Total pay increase of 17% by the end of the contract in 2010

• Under the new contract, the uniform allowance is increased by $100.
• The contract also provides compensation for college tuition reimbursement.
