• Officers who retire by December 31, 2008 will have 100% of medical insurance covered. Those who retire by December 31, 2012 will have 50% of medical insurance covered.

San Diego, California Police Department

• Approximately 85% of officers will receive 1% educational incentive on July 1, 2007.
• Under new contract, health care benefits move from cafeteria plan, under which each officer received $5,575 per year to spend on health insurance, to a system in which benefits are based on rank and the officer’s family situation.
