Bridgeport, Connecticut Police Department

• The new police agreement will save the City about $2 million in the current fiscal year due to the salary freezes, deferments in holiday and vacation pay, and reduced take-home vehicle privileges.

Fresno, California Sheriff’s Department

• Deputy Sheriff’s Association and the Sheriff’s Sergeant’s Association retain the patrol take-home car program intact.
• Deputy IV (Corporal) position attains Civil Service status.

King County, Washington Sheriff’s Office

• 5% annual raises for the next five years (through 2012)

• Under the new contract, the Union agrees to the formation of a civilian oversight office and regular performance evaluations for officers.

Middletown, Ohio Fire Department

• The City Council also approved a six-month extension to the previous contract, retroactive to July 1, 2008, which provides firefighters with a 1.5% raise.

Oneida County, New York Sheriff’s Office

• The pay increase brings the salaries of Oneida County deputies more in line with deputies of surrounding counties.

• The 2011 raise for patrol deputies and detectives will be based on the average increases in neighboring counties.
• Corrections officers and other eligible employees will have to renegotiate pay for the final year of the agreement.
• Employees will pay 9% of health insurance premiums this year, 9.5% next year, and 10% in 2011.

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department

• July 2009, 3%

• Cafeteria allowance will go to 100% paid for medical, dental and vision for the employee and dependents with up to $1200 per month in lieu payment for those with other insurance coverage.
• Tuition reimbursement goes from $2500 to $5000 per year.
