Costa Mesa, California Police Department

• The new contract will provide a fixed 5% raise for every year of service for seven years (previous contract had five steps)

• Under the new contract, the City will pay an additional $150 for health coverage.
• Field training officers receive 7.5% bonus.

Easton, Pennsylvania Police Department

• 2008, 4%

• Under the new contract, officers with an associate’s degree receive an extra $400 a year, $750 if they have a bachelor’s degree, and $1,000 if they have a master’s degree.

Lorain, Ohio Police Department

• 2007, 3.5%
• 2008, 2.5%
• 2009, 2.5%

• Raises in 2010 to be determined by average of other union contracts.
• The new contract does not guarantee take-home cruisers as the previous contract did.

McAllen, Texas Police Department

• January 2008, 1% plus one-time $400 payment
• October 2008, 4%
• October 2009, 3.5%

• Retirement contribution will increase from 6% employee contribution and 12% City match to 7% employee contribution and 14% City match.

Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Police (Buffalo, New York)

• Four-year contract starting April 2007
• 10.5% total pay increase

• Under the new contract new hires will contribute 10% of the cost of their medical coverage.

• New contract requires employees to begin paying 6% of their healthcare premiums for themselves and their dependents. Previously, they paid nothing for themselves and 10% for their dependents.
